FAQ for USA3000 Baggage Fee Policy: Effective October 1, 2009
What is the new baggage fee policy?
For all domestic flights booked on or after October 1, 2009 the charge for a first checked bag will be $15 if purchased at the time of making the reservation. If purchased at the airport ticket counter, the charge for a first checked bag is $25. Additional charges will apply if the baggage is overweight or oversized. All charges are nonrefundable. All checked items in excess of one (1) checked bag per passenger are accepted subject to availability.
Passengers on International flights are allowed one (1) checked bag free of charge.
Is the baggage policy the same for International travel?
No. Each ticketed customer traveling on an International flight may check one (1) bag free of charge.
How much does it cost to check a second bag?
A second checked bag will be charged a nonrefundable fee of $25 regardless of whether the bag is prepaid or paid for at the airport ticket counter.
If I prepay for a checked bag and then decide not to check a bag, will I be reimbursed the checked baggage fee?
We are sorry but all checked baggage fees are nonrefundable once paid.
I purchased my ticket before October 1, 2009, but I am traveling after October 1, 2009. Will I be assessed the new fee?
No. You will be charged according to our checked bag policies preceding October 1, 2009. Those costs include a nonrefundable first checked bag fee of $9 if paid in advance or $12 if paid at the airport ticket counter. All other baggage fees will apply according to policy at time of ticket purchase.
What are the fees for overweight/oversized baggage?
Baggage weighing over 50 lbs and up to 70 lbs will be assessed an extra $25 fee. Also, baggage measuring over 62 linear inches (length + width + height) will be assessed an extra $25 fee. USA3000 does not accept any baggage over 70 lbs.
What if I check only one bag but it weighs more than 50 lbs?
Customers will be charged a first-checked bag fee of $25 if paid at the airport, or $15 if paid in advance, plus an extra $25 fee for going over the 50 lb weight limit.
Have any changed been made to the carry-on rule?
No, carry-on baggage policies have not changed. Each ticketed passenger may have one (1) carry-on bag and one (1) personal item.
What are the weight and size restrictions for carry-on items?
All carry-on items must meet FAA regulations and fit easily in a carry-on bag sizing unit (approximately 24”x16”x10”), and weigh less than 50 lbs. The FAA mandates that all carry-on items must fit under a seat without blocking passenger access to the aisles.
If I have two pieces of baggage and am planning to carry one on the plane, will I be charged for the other piece of baggage?

Will the bag fee apply to active US Military checking bags?
USA3000 Airlines will waive all baggage fees for active service personnel showing current military orders for travel. This refers to oversize, overweight, and excess baggage fees.
What is the charge for golf clubs, skis, bicycles or pets?

How do I pay the baggage fees?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover only. No other form of payment will be accepted. Payment can be processed at the time of reservation, or at the USA3000 airport ticket counter.
Will I receive a receipt for baggage charges?
Yes, a receipt will be provided at the time of payment.
I forgot to pay for my bags during my initial reservation and I want to ensure I only pay the $15 fee for the first bag. What are my options?
You may call our reservation line at 800-872-3000 (TTY: 800-906-3000) before 8 pm EST the day before your trip.
What happens if USA 3000 loses or misplaces my baggage? Will I be reimbursed for the fee I was assessed?
Yes. In the event that USA3000 loses or misplaces any baggage, the fees associated with that baggage will be reimbursed.
Can I check baggage on the USA3000 website?
All checked baggage should be checked at the USA3000 ticket counter at the time of check-in. Checked baggage fees may be paid at the time of reservation, by calling the reservation line at 800-872-3000 before 8pm EST the day before your trip, or at the USA3000 airport ticket counter on the day of travel.
